 Ben Wilson from Kirton near Boston linked up with the Gearlink Kawasaki British Supersport team on Sunday to take part in a shake down test to prepare the bike for a full test in Spain prior to the opening round of the British Supersport championship at Brands Hatch over the Easter weekend.Wilson is embarking on a second year with the highly successful Gearlink Kawasaki team and, after completing 2009 in a strong fourth place is working towards bettering that during 2010. Gearlink Kawasaki has also announced the addition of a second rider to its British Supersport squad. Lee Johnston from N Ireland will partner Wilson in the team’s quest for glory. Lee won the Superstock 600 championship in 2008 – following on in the footsteps of Wilson who also won the title back in 2001.  “We were at Brands Hatch to blow the cobwebs away and make sure we are well prepared for the full test in Spain. It is the first time on the new bike and I settled to it extremely well so am well prepared for our trip to Spain where we can get some serious testing under our belts ahead of the first round of the new season at Easter,” said Wilson. “I am keen to get started; I really like the short Indy circuit at Brands and can’t wait to kick my season off. “My training with Mark Coles of M10 Fitness, Newark has been going very well and now I have had a blast around the track on the new bike I am eager to get some race action started.” Race dates: Rd 1 – Brands Hatch – April 5; Rd 2 – April 18 – Thruxton; Rd 3 – Oulton Park – May 3; Rd 4 – Cadwell Park – May 23; Rd 5 – Mallory Park – June 27; Rd 6 – Knockhill – July 4; Rd 7 – Snetterton – July 18; Rd 9 – Cadwell Park – August 30; Rd 10 – Croft - September 12; Rd 11 – Silverstone – September 26; Rd 12 – Oulton Park – October 10.
